Prof. (Dr.) D. S. Gambhir

Prof. D.S. Gambhir is a distinguished pioneer in interventional cardiology in India. A graduate and postgraduate from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, he completed his DM in Cardiology and went on to serve as a Professor at G.B. Pant Hospital before leading cardiology teams across major medical institutions, currently serving as Group Director of Cardiology at Kailash Group of Hospitals.

Having performed over 20,000 coronary interventions, he has led advancements in complex angioplasty procedures, including extensive work in left-main coronary artery stenting. Alongside his active clinical practice, he has played an influential role in training cardiologists across India and internationally.

Throughout his four-decade career, Dr. Gambhir has significantly contributed to medical research and device development in India, including pioneering work on drug-coated stent technology presented at global cardiac forums.
